The Gold Coast is hard on trailers. Between the Broadwater, the Seaway, Jacobs Well and the Tweed, a boat trailer here gets dunked in salt water more times in a season than most trailers manage in a decade. Add year-round humidity and the result is predictable: bearings that let go on the highway, lights that die after one launch, and rollers that perish long before the boat does.

Martin's Trailer Parts has been manufacturing and supplying trailer components since the 1960s, and we freight to the Gold Coast from our Perth facilities. Every part number, description and GST-inclusive price is listed in our online shop, so you can find the exact component you need rather than settling for whatever the nearest store has left on the shelf.

Ordering from the Gold Coast? Send your parts list and delivery postcode to sales@trailerparts.net.au or call (08) 9279-5777 and we will confirm availability, freight cost and transit time before you place the order.

Where we actually are. Martin's does not have a Gold Coast store. We are a Western Australian manufacturer that delivers to the Coast, and everything on this page is available to you by freight. If you also need parts further north, we cover Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast as well, or you can browse the full catalogue on our trailer parts online page.

Boat Trailer Parts That Survive the Broadwater

Salt water does not damage a trailer evenly. It attacks a handful of components first, and those are the ones worth understanding before you order.

Bearings and seals fail first

Hot hubs dropped into cold salt water draw moisture past the seal as they contract. Do that fortnightly for a season and the grease turns to grey paste. Bearings are the cheapest part on a boat trailer and the most expensive one to ignore, because a collapsed bearing takes the stub axle with it and usually happens at highway speed on the M1.

Lights and wiring are next

Submerged lamps and corroded connections are the standard reason a Gold Coast trailer fails inspection. Sealed LED units and properly terminated wiring last dramatically longer than the budget lamps fitted to most imported trailers.

Rollers perish where you cannot see them

Rollers and bunks carry the hull, so when they go hard, crack or seize, the damage shows up on the boat rather than the trailer. Worth replacing on condition, not on age.

Galvanised is not optional here

Painted steel components have a short life on a trailer that is regularly immersed. We supply galvanised and marine-grade fittings across the range, and if you tell us the trailer is launched in salt water we will steer you to the right specification rather than the cheapest one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a trailer parts store on the Gold Coast?

No. Martin's Trailer Parts is a Western Australian manufacturer with three stores in Perth, and we supply the Gold Coast by delivery rather than through a local shop front. Gold Coast orders are placed through our online shop, by phone or by email, and freighted to your address. We would rather say that plainly than have you drive to a store that is not there.

What trailer parts do Gold Coast boat owners order most?

Hub and bearing kits, seals, rollers and trailer lights are the parts that move most on the Gold Coast, because all four are directly exposed to salt water every time a boat is launched and retrieved. Winch straps, coupling spares and jockey wheels follow closely behind.

How long does delivery to the Gold Coast take and what does freight cost?

Freight time and cost depend on the size and weight of the order and on your delivery suburb. Small items such as bearing kits, seals, lights and rollers travel as standard parcels, while axles and springs go as bulky freight. Send your parts list and postcode to sales@trailerparts.net.au or call (08) 9279-5777 and we will confirm the current transit time and freight cost before you order.

How often should boat trailer bearings be replaced?

There is no single interval, because it depends on how often the trailer is immersed and how quickly it is rinsed afterwards. Trailers launched in salt water regularly are usually inspected and repacked at least once a year, and many owners keep a spare bearing kit in the tow vehicle. Heat, a rumbling noise or play in the wheel means the bearings need attention before the next trip, not after it.

Are your boat trailer parts suitable for salt water use?

Our rollers and boat trailer components are made for trailers that are launched regularly, and we supply galvanised and marine-grade fittings across the range. If you are ordering for a trailer that lives on the Broadwater rather than one that sees fresh water twice a year, tell us when you order and we will point you to the right specification.

Do you supply parts for jet ski and small tinnie trailers?

Yes. The same categories cover light trailers, including smaller axles and stubs, hub and bearing kits, rollers, jockey wheels, winches and lights. If you are unsure which size suits a jet ski or tinnie trailer, send us the axle measurement and a photo and we will match it.

Do your prices include GST, and do you deliver across the border to Tweed Heads?

Yes to both. Every price in our online shop includes 10% Australian GST, with freight quoted separately. We deliver across the whole Gold Coast including Tweed Heads and the northern New South Wales border towns.

Are your trailer parts Australian-made and ADR compliant?

Many of our components are manufactured by Martin's in Perth, and parts listed in our online shop meet Australian Design Rules where those rules apply. Part descriptions note country of origin where relevant, which matters if you are rebuilding a trailer that needs to pass inspection.
